Tampere has set a goal to become a carbon-neutral city through its Sustainable Tampere 2030 roadmap. The city has also committed increasing the use of secondary raw materials in built environment and wants to explore opportunities for urban food production.
In order to change the current linear system, it is necessary to envision a new system based on circular economy principles. Ethica created two circular ecosystem reports for Tampere:
- Circular ecosystem in built environment with the focus on infrastructure
- Urban food production ecosystem
Both reports describe and visualise the future circular ecosystem, current bottle necks, future opportunities and success criteria for transitioning into a circular ecosystem.
