A unique Circular Design programme started in Finland in autumn 2022 guided 50 Finnish companies through a one-year circular development path. Ethica designed the programme and led the execution together with Design Forum Finland.

From an international perspective, the programme is the first and only national training programme deep-diving into circular design principles and focusing on generating concrete product/service concepts to secure companies’ competitive advantage in the biggest market transition of our time. In addition, this programme prepared companies for the forthcoming Ecodesign Directive requiring product durability, reliability, reusability, upgradability, repairability, and ease of maintenance/refurbishment/recycling in addition to energy and resource efficiency.

Participating companies included e.g., Stora Enso, UPM, ABB, Kiilto, Genelec, Luhta, Stockmann and Marimekko among others (see all companies here).
